Callaway Woods

After the great success with the Callaway FT i . Callaway have now introduced the new Callaway Squareway for 2008. The basic idea behind the club is that a square shaped head and the innovative placement of weight in the four corners of the golf club, will impart less spin on the ball and is therefore easier to hit straight. The original FT i driver was available in draw and fade versions, that was a little bit of a contradiction in terms , the new fairway woods are only available in a neutral version and this would appear to be logical .

The new squareway has managed a great leap forward , the new clubs have a much higher MOI , the better Moi is produced through an improvement in the seamless fusion technology used by Callaway. The face , graphite composite crown , sole and body are all joined seamlessly together . Callaway claim that this club is the most forgiving fairway wood that they have built . The clubs are firstly only available as a three wood with 15 degrees , a five wood with 18 degrees and a seven wood with 21 degrees . Left handers are accomodated with a three and five wood.

The new Callaway FT i  Driver when Callaway first introduced this driver there was a lot of hype about it , and correctly so . The first driver with a new revolutionary square design . The driver has a full carbon body that allowed Callaway to save 42 g from the head weight ,the weight saving was then used to put extra weight in the corners of the club , thus making off center hit a lot more foregiving . The research and development also included help from BMW when Callaway merged the the crown of the club like a car bonnet . The then unique weighting of the club together with square design definitely imparts less spin on the ball and makes it a lot easier to hit straight shots
