Cleveland golf

Cleveland golf is a relative small company who produce top quality golf clubs . The original start for Cleveland was in the club restoration branch . Roger Cleveland bought the company in 1979 . The  innovation and the clever  designed wedge range of   clubs soon led to Cleveland becoming the number one  wedge on the European but also on the USPGA tour . In 1990 Rossignol the biggest ski  company the world bought the Californian based golf manufacture , Rossignol invested in the latest technologies and created a range of clubs that were ahead of there time , Corey Pavin managed to win the USA open in 1995 using Cleveland  clubs. Unfortunately the club with their new look were also not popular with the consumers and in 1996 Rossignol had to look at both at the future of the company, but also and more radically at its finances .

Roger Cleveland who had left  Cleveland to join Callaway was badly missed . In 1997 Cleveland with a new managing director change its strategy and began once more to build a classic range of golf clubs . Together with an aggressive marketing policy including the sponsoring of Vijay Singh , who was for a very short time world number one in 2003. Managed to increase they turnover five fold within a decade. Rossignol sold the company in 2007 to SRI Sports Cleveland have about 350 employees worldwide
