Titleist 909 Driver

 Titleist most famous for their golfballs have been building increasingly improving drivers. Again for the  Munich Golf Conference will introduce the new Titleist 909 , altogether Titleist have introduced 3 Different models

909 D-Comp — A high launch, midspin driver. Titleist’s first ever multi composite construction. 460cc. This driver has a composite carbon material in the crown. Creating a lighter clubhead and also lowering the Center of Gravity. 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 (  right hand only) degree models .The lie angle is 59°, and the face is 0.5° open. Standard shafts are the Matrix Ozik XCon-5 (62g, 4.9° torque, medium-soft tip, mid-low flex point, med-high trajectory) and the XCon-6  (65g, 4.1° torque, stiff tip, med-high flex point, medium trajectory). Available in the following options 8.5, 9.5, 10.5 and 11.5 (  right hand only) degree models   The easiest to hit and for slower swing speeds

Titleist 909 D2 — A mid launch, mid spin driver. All Titanium. 460cc. Heir apparent to 907D2, 905T, 905R, 983K.  This driver is a full Titanium head and has an extremely high MOI is 4800  ( for the better golfer, probably will be the most popular) At least in the Usa the d2 model is cheaper as the composite driver

909 D3 — A mid launch, low spin driver. All Titanium. 440cc deepface. (Replaces the Tour only 907D4.       ( for good golfers and professionals)

The drivers have already been given its Tournament debut and was tested  at the Canadian.

The new Titleist 909 Drivers are expected to be hugely successful because of their innovative launch and spin characteritics, Titleist have set out its stall to appeal to all classes of Golfer with the new Titleist 909  Driver. The drivers do still  target the better golfers and will probably continue to do so

 However all Golfers particularly good golfers do look for specific characteristics in a driver, and obviously no single driver can cover all these demands, Titleist with 909 driver appear to be appealing to a much wider range of clients
All  the Titleist 909 range have a lower crown and therefore the center of Gravity is lower and should make the drivers easier to play as the cog is also towards to the back of the club the Titleist 909 range have a lower spin rate and higher MOI

909 Swing Weights

The playing characteristics of the Titleist 909 Serie

  • The drivers all have a tungsten screw in 3 different weights 2, 7, and12 grams which will allow golfers to play with the swingweight or maintain the swing with different shafts
  • Different option with the center of gravity
  • Sole design  that reduces vibration and makes a solid sound by contact.
  • The normal round head has replaced the unpopulad Titleist D1
  • The Titleist 909 drivers have a variable club face with a triangular reinforced area by the sweetspot.
  •   Anew hosel system that saves weight and allows for more shaft options

The three drivers will be added to Titleist surefit system with 7 different driver heads and the possibility with upto 16 different shafts including

Aldila DVS, Voodoo, Diamana Blue 65, 55, GDI YSQ6, Graffaloy ProLaunch Red, Mitsubishi Javlnfx M7, Ozik XCon-5, -6, UST ProForce V2, and others.

909 DComp

909 Driver Tops

The 909D2 will be offered in the same lofts (8.5-11.5 for righties, 8.5-10.5 for lefties), comes with a lie angle of 58°, and also a 0.5° open face. The stock shaft will be the Aldila Voodoo (69g, 3.3° torque, med-stiff tip, mid-high flex point, medium trajectory) and the Diamana Blue 65 (65g, 4.3° torque, medium tip, mid flex point, medium trajectory). The high polish silver sole features silver paint highlights and the body is, again, “black high gloss.” Bulge and roll are 12″ and 11″ and the MAP is $399.

Titleist 909 D3

This model has a smaller 440 cc clubhead has lower spin characteristics and a MOI from 4600: This is an improvement on the Titleist 907D4 a tour protype that was never released to the general public.
